Two Great NRA Ads

(GunReports.com) — If you haven’t seen these NRA Bill of Rights ads yet, then stop for a moment, download them, and take a close look.

The deck reads, “Before anyone edits the Bill of Rights, the authors would like a word with you.”

SAAMI, being an accredited standards-setting organization, welcomed the opportunity to be part of a standards-setting process which requires rigorous adherence to facts.

The adjacent artwork has handwritten “corrections” marked in the text of the 2nd Amendment. A well-regulated “militia” becomes a well-regulated “national guard/police force.” The phrase “necessary to a free State” is amended to strike out the word “free” and is accompanied by the comment, “no longer a problem”; that is, we’re no longer free.

Below the markups are comments from Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and others, including George Mason. The pull quote accompanying Mason’s signature reads, “I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people… To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them…”
