Savage Arms is pleased to announce a new action that will change the way the firearms industry talks about bolt-actions. Previously centerfire bolt actions have been measured in length: long action, short action, super-short action, etc. The Savage Model 25 features a new slender, cartridge-diameter-specific action built around the .223 bolt head diameter. It is not only short, but also much smaller in diameter than a standard centerfire action.
The result is a compact, lightweight action that is no bulkier than it needs to be to chamber the diminutive .223 Rem. and .204 Ruger cartridges.
The Model 25 will be available in a varminter, a varminter with thumbhole stock and a Classic Series sporter model.
