DUBLIN — Research and Markets’ Small Arms Manufacturing Industry report says the gun-manufacturing industry’s revenue for the year 2008 was approximately $2.7 billion USD, with an estimated gross profit of 40.52%. Import was valued at $1.4 billion USD from 56 countries.
The industry also exported $439.6 million USD worth of merchandise to 157 countries. Adding import value to and subtracting export value from the industry’s shipment value, the total domestic demand for the industry in 2008 was $3.7 billion USD.
This U.S. industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing small firearms that are carried and fired by the individual.
