Idaho is a permitless-carry state. You may carry a concealed weapon on your person without a concealed-weapons license if you are at least 18 years old. The state offers two different types of concealed permits: a Basic Concealed Weapons License (CWL) and an Enhanced Concealed Weapons License (E-CWL). The Enhanced Concealed License is recognized in seven more states than the Basic Concealed License. Both must be applied for separately and if a person possesses a basic CWL and applies for an Enhanced CWL they must go through the entire application process including providing fingerprints again. The enhanced CWL requires eight hours of specified training.
