Madison, NC – For 2008, two new full-featured synthetic Express 12-gauge magnum (2¾ and 3-inch shell capable) and one Super Magnum (2¾, 3 or 3½-inch shell capable) versions have been added to the line-up – the Model 870 Express Magnum ShurShot – Turkey; the Model 870 Express Magnum ShurShot FR CL (Fully Rifled Cantilever); and the Model 870 Express Super Magnum – Waterfowl.

Model 870 Express Magnum ShurShot Turkey

– This Model 870 has been optimized for the hardcore turkey hunter, beginning with our new ShurShot synthetic stock and extended Model 870 fore-end grip. This new ergonomically-designed stock has a pistol-grip, thumbhole design that will provide proper fit and sight alignment for right or left-handed shooters! The redesigned extended fore-end provides for quicker followup shots and more solid grip when wearing gloves or facing inclement weather. For ultimate concealment, both the synthetic stock with standard recoil pad and fore-end feature versatile Mossy Oak Obsession camouflage and exposed metalwork has a matte black, non-reflective finish. The 21-inch vent rib Rem Choke barrel has twin beads for pinpoint target alignment and comes supplied with our Turkey Extra Full Rem Choke tube. The receiver is drilled and tapped for the ease of mounting optics on this turkey-specific shotgun and rear-molded sling swivel stud and front magazine cap stud provide for quick sling attachment. – With the rapid advancements in slug technology and many states restricting hunting areas to shotguns only, many high-priced, slug-dedicated shotgun offerings have flooded the market. This 12-gauge Express magnum platform is an affordable, yet well-designed alternative. This full-featured Model 870 has our new ShurShot synthetic, ambidextrous stock with innovative pistol-grip, thumbhole design. The stock design provides for a rock-solid grip, added maneuverability and helps lessen the impact of recoil. And it is a perfect fit for the right or left-handed shooter! This Model 870 also features our new extended synthetic fore-end grip for a more solid, positive grip in colder weather or when wearing gloves. Both stock and fore-end have a matte black, nonreflective finish. The compact 23-inch fully-rifled barrel has an integrated cantilever scope mount for ease of adding optics. The Super Magnum platform can easily handle 2¾, 3 or 3½-inch loads including the latest heavier-than-lead, nontoxic loads like our Wingmaster HD and with the ability to interchange choke tubes, utilizing our Rem Choke system, you can match your pattern to the hunting conditions. Barrel, receiver, stock and fore-end are fully camouflaged with Mossy Oak Duck Blind, giving you the advantage when ducks and geese are dropping in. The 28-inch vent rib Rem Choke barrel comes supplied with our “Over Decoys” Choke tube (.007”) but with optional choke tubes, this all-purpose shotgun is also at home in the dove field or prairie grasslands.
