Smith & Wesson Members Earn Top Finishes in Four Events During Steel Shoot Series Louisiana Regional

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –Team Smith & Wesson members earned top finishes during the Smith & Wesson Steel Shoot Series Match held at the Shootout Range in Princeton, Louisiana in four events, taking home titles in the Limited, Open, Iron Sight Revolver Divisions and the Rimfire event.

Competing in the Limited Division, Team Smith & Wesson swept the top three spots with Jerry Miculek taking top honors while fellow teammates B.J. Norris and Kay Clark Miculek finished second and third place respectively. While competing in the Limited Division, Jerry and B.J. Norris both used the new M&P Pro Series pistol.

During the Open Division, the husband and wife duo of Kay and Jerry Miculek once again went head-to-head for the division title with Kay narrowly edging out Jerry for first place. Kay’s total score of 94.75 was a mere 2.95 seconds faster than Jerry earning her the Open Division title along with the High Lady award.

Jerry and Kay faced off for a third time in the Rimfire event, with Jerry finishing first. Close behind, Team Smith & Wesson member B.J. Norris captured another second place finish with Kay placing third.

In the Iron Sight Revolver Division, another husband and wife team for Smith & Wesson – Elliot and Annette Aysen – competed for the division title. Posting a total score of 115.47, Elliot Aysen earned first overall winning six out of the eight stages of fire. Annette finished a close 0.88 seconds behind Johnny Brister, earning third place in the event.

Governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA), the sport of Steel Speed Shooting uses steel targets, usually in a five-target array, and an electronic timer to record a competitor’s time for each stage of fire. Sponsored by Smith & Wesson, the Steel Shoot Series features remaining matches at the Virginia Regional in Fredericksburg, Virginia the weekend of August 1-3 and the Northwest Regional hosted by the Albany Rifle & Pistol Club in Albany, Oregon the weekend of September 26-28.
