Sturm, Ruger & Company is celebrating its 75th year as an American firearms manufacturer throughout 2024, and to commemorate this event, the company has released a special edition of the stainless Ruger SR1911.

First introduced in 2011 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Government Model 1911, the stainless Ruger SR1911 is a completely American-made 1911-type pistol. The diamond anniversary edition will be produced in limited numbers and features a laser-engraved slide that commemorates Ruger’s 75th Anniversary. Custom grip panels feature detailed scrollwork to match the engraved slide.

Each pistol ships in a specially marked 75th Anniversary lockable case with one 7-round and one 8-round stainless steel magazine.

Other features include a titanium firing pin, extended thumb safety, extended magazine release, oversized beavertail grip safety and a visual inspection port to allow visual confirmation of a round in the chamber.

The plunger tube for both the slide stop and thumb safety is integral to the frame and will never shoot loose. The SR1911 uses a skeletonized hammer and an aluminum, skeletonized trigger with an adjustable over-travel stop.

Only 750 of the Anniversary SR1911’s will be produced during 2024 and will be identifiable by a special “R75” serial number prefix.
