McMillan Firearms Division Sold to Strategic Armory Corps

McMillan Group International announced this week that it has sold its firearms division, McMillan Firearms, to Strategic Armory Corps, LLC (SAC).

November NICS Down 14.2% from 2012

The November 2013 NSSF-adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) figure of 1,308,100 is a decrease of 14.2% compared to the NSSF-adjusted NICS figure of 1,525,177 in November 2012.

Gun Tests Magazine recently tested five high-capacity semi-automatic 9mm handguns that were aimed at the Practical Shooting competitor. Practical Shooting evolved from experimentation with handguns used for self-defense. One characteristic that separates Practical Shooting from other organized pistol competition is that the scoring takes into account the amount of time it takes to deliver the required number of shots for each course of fire. So, fast-action gun handling, as well as quick, precise shots becomes an integral part of the shooter's score. In another test, they paid particular attention to features and components that make the guns faster and easier to operate, as well as more accurate. They chose to look at the Glock G34 Gen 4 9mm. HatsanUSA Inc. Debuts Tactical Style AT44-10TACT Airgun

Turkish airgun manufacturer Hatsan has entered the U.S. market as HatsanUSA Inc., and to mark its debut, the company is offering the AT44-10TACT, a tactical-style air rifle that is able to shoot high-density lead pellets with a muzzle velocity of up to 1070 fps.

Weatherby Expands WBY-X Rifle and Shotgun Lines

Weatherby has expanded its popular WBY-X line with new rifle and shotgun models. The new models feature unconventional camouflage patterns such as Kryptek Typhon, Kryptek Highlander, Proveil Reaper Black and Boneyard Camo Legends Blaze. A new semi-auto shotgun model, the SA-08 GH2 (Girls Hunt 2), is designed for women and young shooters.

Browning Citori Model XS Sporting Over/Under 12 Gauge, $2120 (used)

Gun Tests magazine compared two high-end shotguns from Browning in the April 2012 issue to see which model offered the most bang for the buck. This Bargain Hunter test pitted a used Browning Citori Model XS Sporting Over/Under 12 Gauge, $2120; and a Browning Citori Model 725, $3140, on the competition shooting range.
