Four New Bullet Loads Available for Weatherby Ammunition

Weatherby’s ammunition line has expanded with the introduction of two new bullet weights for big game from both Barnes TSX and Nosler Accubond.

The new TSX bullets are 180-grain in .300 and .30-378 Weatherby calibers. The new Accubond bullet loads are 200-grain rounds for the .340 and .338-378 Weatherby calibers.

Made of 100-percent copper and featuring solid-core construction, the Barnes TSX has gained a reputation for retaining virtually all of its weight upon impact while delivering superior terminal performance with lighter-weight bullets. The TSX’s nose cavity is specially designed to instantly open into four petals upon impact, expanding faster than traditional lead-core bullets. Razor-sharp edges give the bullet lethal cutting power and deep penetration. The bullet’s rings are precisely positioned to relieve firing pressure, allowing the TSX to be loaded at higher velocities.

A leading example of advanced bonded-core bullet technology, the Nosler Accubond is designed to fly true, penetrate deeply and retain a high percentage of weight, without causing extensive barrel fouling. The bullet’s fully tapered, heavy-alloy jacket is bonded to a special lead alloy core through a proprietary process. A polymer tip resists deformation in the magazine and initiates expansion upon impact. The Solid Base boat-tail configuration, together with the streamlined polymer tip, enhances the bullet’s long-range performance. The Solid Base design jacket acts as a platform for large-diameter mushroom and helps prevent bullet deformation during firing.

All Weatherby ammunition utilizes Norma Precision Brass with CNC-machined primer pockets produced to match-grade specifications. Norma High-Grade Premium Powder is standard for maximum velocity and energy. Specially-designed premium-grade primers provide positive ignition of the powder charges. Weatherby ammunition also features a double-radius Venturi shoulder design, which increases the velocity of escaping gases without increasing the pressure within the cartridge. As a result, higher velocity can be attained within standard pressure ranges.
