Taurus’ Specialty Grips For Its 1911
MIAMI – New for 2008 Taurus is pleased to offer its popular 1911 with “Bull’s Head Walnut” grips. Taurus researched the finest grips in the world and decided on the “European Stipple” pattern and “American Checkering” pattern as the best in all situations. The combination of these two patterns created one of the most handsome and distinctive grips ever produced.
Appropriately named the “Bull’s Head Walnut” grips, because they feature the Taurus bull logo and are crafted from premium walnut wood, the new grips are available on both the blued and stainless version of the Taurus 1911. Also included are standard grips and two blue steel magazines. Grips can also be purchased separately.
Combining unsurpassed accuracy, style and standard-feature packed model, the Taurus 1911 sets the standard at half the retail price of the competition. The model features a forged frame, slide and barrel and comes fully loaded with approximately $1600 worth of extra premium accessories built-in as standard equipment.
Chambered in .45 ACP with a five inch custom fitted barrel, the Taurus 1911 integrates nineteen custom features, including an ambidextrous safety, skeleton serrated trigger, target hammer, serrated slide, checkered trigger guard, mainspring housing and front strap, genuine Heinie Straight Eight sights, a polished feed ramp and barrel throat, lowered and flared ejection port, custom internal extractor, beavertail grip safety with memory pad, extended magazine release and more. All the major components are custom forged— not cast— from ordnance grade steel and every component of the original 1911 design is manufactured by Taurus to tolerance levels that surpass even today’s industry standards.
As an added commitment to quality, the Taurus 1911 is the only production 1911 imprinted with matching serial numbers on the frame, slide and barrel, ensuring every gun is hand-assembled, hand-mated and hand-fitted for a flawless function. MSRP for the 1911 with Bull’s Head Walnut grips is $739.00 and $839.00.
