(GunReports.com) — Earlier this month, ATK announced that it is being awarded a 450-million-round contract to produce 40-caliber cartridges for the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement is for 40-caliber ammunition loaded with ATK’s HST bullet.

The HST XM40HC load has a 180-grain jacketed hollowpoint bullet. Bullet velocity at the muzzle is 1015 fps, developing muzzle energy of 410 ft/lbs. Customer reviews on the CTD site are very positive about the load.
